What methods and forms of work do you use in your Nursery?

Our main methods and forms of pedagogical work:

DIDACTICS:

- Imaginative Play - our original program of activities based on the child's natural creativity, developing: imagination, unconventional way of thinking and searching for solutions, emotional intelligence and group action, logical, cause-effect thinking; mindfulness, concentration and focus. In Imaginative Play classes  everything is possible - your child can travel through fairy-tale lands, turn into any character and create a scenario of his own story on his own.

- Polysensory - the child learns the world with all senses. With this in mind, we create surroundings (manipulation boards in the rooms, educational toys, use of natural raw materials) and activities that allow the child to feel, taste, hear, discover smells, try by touch and see as many stimuli as possible to support development. You will not find battery operated toys - playing and glowing. We want the child to be surrounded by toys that he influences and is not their passive recipient, but the creator of her/his own play.

- we have everyday musical games in English

- The method of a movement story by JC Thulin, a Swedish educator. It involves the use of fairy tales, legends, various stories to express the child's movement expression, experiencing the story in his/her own way and expressing it. In addition to movement exercises, expression and motor imagination are developed,  fantasy and emotional sphere.

- elements of the Maria Montessori method. We follow the child and his receptive mind. We adapt the environment to her /his capabilities. We observe the children's sensitive phases in order to adapt the activities to their current developmental needs. Children in the Home Nursery MIŁO learn from each other, help and support each other. They do not compete, they do not have to seek attention, because they receive it constantly and unconditionally. We are constantly training in cooperation with the Association Montessori Internationale.

- The Good Start Method by Marta Bogdanowicz. Bearing in mind that after the end of the adventure with the nursery, the child will enter the world of kindergarten, we want to help her/him prepare for this stage in the best possible way. Therefore, we plan activities that will help children prepare for the future learning of writing and many other skills. We focus on fine motor skills in everyday games, improving the work of the muscles responsible for writing, as well as wrist rotation and many other skills.

- Music therapy. Music has great power. He can make the most cloudy day beautiful and special. We appreciate the role of music, so every day we turn on the best, sophisticated musical propositions: jazz for children, classical music, relaxing music, educational children's songs and many different musical surprises.

- Fairy-tale therapy. We help the child understand his/her own emotions, name them, deal with them, and

in getting to know the surrounding world. We get used to what is still unknown, sometimes scary or frustrating, and we support it using fairy tales. A rich library with a nice, soft and pleasant place to relax with a book is an important element of our interiors.

- Hortitherapy. Taking care of our beautiful and safe plants for children promotes the development of intelligence, improvement of well-being, the development of mindfulness and care.

PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH:

Education in accordance with the rules of Resources for Infant Educarers RIE Magda Gerber (more on this topic

in the tab: RIE education - information);

- We have a relational attitude towards children,  we create a sense of security and trust so that the child feels best with us and develops in accordance with his/her potential. We give him/her space for own emotions, experience them and we empathically help in dealing with them;

- communication at the Home Nursery MIŁO is based on the Non-Violent Communication (NVC). We all - parents, children, educarers - create a small community. In order to build it on healthy foundations, in a place where everyone will feel good, we want NVC to apply to every person staying in MIŁO.

What is NVC based on? We focus on honesty in relationships, respect for other people, striving to create contact. We do not judge other people, we do not criticize. We are looking for an agreement and a jointly developed solution.

Food in a nursery

Children eat what they want and as much as they want according to their needs. If the child does not want to eat, he/she walks away from the table, we offer him/her a meal a little later. We accept this and do not force or persuade the child to eat against his/her will.

Due to the well-being of the child, his health needs and the right to grow up in accordance with the family's worldview, we are open to any diet. The nutritional plan is adapted by the dietitian to the needs of the child and your family.

If a child eats in accordance with the Baby-Led Weaning method, this system will be continued in our nursery. We have knowledge, experience and we are not afraid of cleaning up after meals;)
With our tiny groups, we keep the surroundings clean on an ongoing basis, so we will be happy to enable the babies to make choices - including nutritional choices.

What is the day plan in the nursery?

Our plan helps children feel safe.

These are meals and nap / relaxation time. We try to be as flexible as possible in responding to the needs of children, which is why this is an indicative daily plan.

We do not rush the children, we provide them peace of mind while eating, hygienically, and carrying out activities that are important to them. The plan is for children, not the other way around.

For this reason, it may undergo small changes on a regular basis.

7:30 - 9:00 children come to the nursery. We perform hygienic activities before breakfast

9:00 - 9:30 breakfast

9:30 - 9:45 a musical greeting to start the day with a nice song. We take care of our plants - we water the herbs: mint, basil, rosemary. We focus on the smell, touch and beauty of herbs. Nature teaches us to be gentle and caring

We prepare materials, toys, teaching aids, the task of which is to stimulate the curiosity of children and their own, creative and creative use.

We always hang on the notice board in the nursery with the detailed plan of the week, where you can check all the activities.
